Geothermal paradise

What a great weekend! John and I have enjoyed our lovely Terrace Lakes home in Garden Valley, Idaho for many years, and this past weekend was no exception. We arrived to our creek side cabin and were welcomed by sunshine, spring flowers, and the scent of pine on the breeze.

g to get away, leave the work and phones behind, and take some time for ourselves in our mountain paradise. This trip was a little bitter sweet because it will be one of our last to our creekside mountain getaway. Knowing we are selling our wonderful vacation home; we did our very best to enjoy every single minute at our cabin. We usually bring the boys along for rafting, skiing and fishing, but this time was just the two of us.

We dropped the cooler off in the shiny new kitchen that we recently remodeled and put in all new appliances, and the very next thing we did was get into the Geothermal Spa. Our private gazebo sits right by the creek and we could hear the creek sounds rushing with the snow melt as soon as we stepped onto the deck.

The natural mineral water was steaming from the hot tub, and we thoroughly enjoyed a long relaxing soak. Later, John got the fireplace going, (one of my favorite things about the cabin), while I grilled the salmon for dinner. I must admit we have become rather spoiled by the Geothermal heat. It's so cheap to run that we just leave the windows open, listen to the creek rushing by, and light the fireplace for ambiance. What a life!

The rest of the visit was filled with fun, long walks around the golf course, and couple of yummy bottles of wine that we had picked up at the winery on the way over.

We even had a picnic on the redwood deck before leaving Sunday.

We have built lots of memories here at our creek side, geothermal, cabin AKA "paradise". Swimming at the pool, going to the Art Festival in June, sledding on the hill at Christmas time and all the hiking trails that are right outside our cabins door. And so many family holidays were made extra special by being here in our cabin.

We have roasted marshmallows creek side, at the fire pit, played horseshoes, and made many rafting trips down the southfork of the Payette River. I was looking at the pictures of the boys, and the changing color of their skin from one season to the next. They love everything outdoors, and have grown up playing in these mountains.

We will miss our wonderful cabin getaway, and hope that another family will have as much fun here as we have. Happy Vacationing!
